How do I check my resume for ATS?
Copy the posting's text into the panel and run the check. The ATS resume checker compares your CV against that posting's own language and lists what matched and what's missing — free, unlimited, and no account needed. The reading is against that one posting — it isn't a pass guarantee, and no two tools compute it the same way: the same CV through another ATS score checker comes back with a different number.
How is this different from ChatGPT?
An AI resume checker scores your CV and stops. A chatbot writes you a new CV and invents skills you don't have. FitCV does neither — it changes only what's on yours, and shows you every edit as a diff.
Which job sites does it work on?
All of them — you paste the posting's text, so nothing depends on the site. A job board, a company careers page, a recruiter's email: if you can copy the text, the checker can read it. There is no supported-site list to fall off.
What's free and what's paid?
The ATS checker is free and unlimited — every check, every gap, nothing withheld. The CV maker is metered: three tailored CVs a month free — cover letter included with each — with a paid tier for more. Nothing you've already made is taken away or held back.
Does it invent anything?
No. The CV maker can only use what's already on your CV — it reorders, rephrases and brings forward, and every change shows in the diff, so you can check it yourself. That's what the '0 facts invented by AI' mark on each change set means.
Where is my data kept?
Your CV, the postings you save, the tailored results and cover letters are stored in your browser's extension storage. To tailor a CV, the text of your CV and the posting are sent to our servers and passed to the model provider that generates the result; they are not kept afterwards. Full detail on the privacy page.
Why a Chrome extension?
Because it opens in a side panel beside the tab you are already in, so the posting stays in front of you while you work — and your CV, your tailored results and your application history stay in the browser's own storage instead of an account you have to create. Chrome first because that's where most of this audience applies from.
